Absolutely disgusting sevice once again. My 2 year old was given an appointment as he had brown secretion coming from his ears. I turn up 20 minutes early as you can never get parked there and with a 6 month old I’m tow also it’s eaier to get parked in the car park. I park easiely for once as there are no cars in there for a change. As I’m about to get the children out of the car I get a call to say they can’t see my 2 year old as “the” Dr has gone to hospital. No offer of seeing anyone else and you mean to tell em at 330 there is only one Dr left in a practice that offers evening appointments. I’m then told to take my child to A&E or Call 111. What use is that? So here I am sat in an already stretched A&E wasting the valuable time of Drs here as Heathcote couldn’t be bothered to arrange someone else to see him. And the practice manager had also led tfor the day at 330?? Don’t even bother signing up to this practice as this isn’t not the 1st bad experience we’ve had there. I had to wait over 6 months for a smear test by which time I was pregnant and then had to wait another 15 months before I was seen as only one nurse is able to do these tests when the surgery has now been given the funding for such tests. I’ve had my child misdiagnosed when he had a chest and throat infection and ended up being admitted to hospital 6 hours after being seen at Heathcote. The list goes on and on. So here I am in A&E with a two year old and a 6 month old with about 10 people in front of us. I would have rated them with no stars but this was not an option unfortunately.

The rating reflects the overall service I have received from Heathcote which is variable from at worst, rude and at best a very caring doctor who really listened. Clearly there is a big strain on resources and I have utmost respect for healthcare workers but an appreciation of the fact that most patients have to work (I currently support vulnerable children and adults). One suggested business efficiency would surely be to introduce an email address negating the 2 touch points - firstly calling for information to then be told to put it in writing (by post). Some surgeries also allow patients to access their records on-line - this has to be a good move into the 21st century. Also charge people who don't turn up for appointments!

Thank you so much to the kind and helpful reception team and Dr Vickery, who today have shown care and compassion to me when I was in great pain. Via a telephone call back system they have all been totally professional and I could not have asked for more. Thank you again.

It is almost impossible to get an appointment to see my doctor or arrange for a blood test within 10 days. I've just spent 2 hours trying to get through on the phone. The phone system appears to automatically disconnect after 5 minutes if you wait for someone to answer. How can the above amount to a good or even reasonable service?

They do the best they can with ever less resources.. There are times when I couldn't get an appointment the same day but there are the other walk in centres now... You have to consider that the NHS is on its knees and these Doctors and Nurses are trying to keep a sinking ship afloat for us!!
